Today Kate came with us to a chili cook-off! I made cornbread and entered it in the cornbread contest. Kate brought her laptop so we could work on the script. We talked in British accents almost the entire time! My mom won 3rd place in the chili contest and I won 3rd place in the cornbread contest! I'm so proud! It was the first time I ever made cornbread!
Then afterward, Kate, my brothers, and I walked around downtown for a while. We went to Powell's and Kate talked in a British accent to the cashier. He asked where her accent was from. She said Britain. She told him she was an exchange student who came here this semester. He totally believed it! It was HILARIOUS! I held in my laughter the whole time and let it all out when we got outside again. Then we went to Goodies and we all talked in British accents. Nobody talked to us about it but I bet they all believed they were real accents. ;)

Script
A bunch of my friends and I are going to be making a movie. It'll take a very long time but it's going to be awesome! We're combining all of the Harry Potter books and funny-ing them up into one movie. Yes, I know we're nerds but it's so fun!
I went to my friend Kate's house and she, Riley and I started making the script. We're very creative. We already have most of the main parts casted out. The problem is that there are SO many characters! We wrote most of the first of seven parts today. We're really creative people and come up with tons of hilarious elements. It'll be so great!
Also, I saw Valentine's Day tonight. It's SO good! I LOVE that movie!

Sports, snow and slips
Today I went to the second day of softball tryouts. Yesterday we were only catching and fielding. Today we were only doing batting. Yesterday was a really awesome, nice, warm day. Today it snowed and it was freezing and miserable. I think I did well, though. Michaela is also trying out.
Finally, it ended and I headed back to the locker room. Annie was out at track. I just changed my shoes so I could stay as warm as I could in my sweats and sweatshirt. Then Tia and Anna came in from track. They were freezing! I handed Anna a Hotties heat pad that I had. She was soo grateful! Tia came in after her and I handed her my other one. She said, "I love you!" After about a minute though, their hands were heating up too fast and were burning, so they gave them back to me. Then Annie came in and was saying, "I'm FREEZING!" I handed her one of the heat pads. Her eyes got all wide and she grabbed me in a huge hug saying, "I love you!" It was hilarious! She kept hugging me and we started slowly spinning in a circle. It sounded like she was crying but she was just gasping and whispering and laughing or something. :) That was also hilarious.
When we got out of the locker room, a bunch of Annie's friends were out in the hall. People started doing handstands against the wall. I thought that might be fun and Annie said it's fun so I tried it. My legs bumped into the wall a little bit but they were spread way too far apart and I lost my balance. Then my arms kind of collapsed and my back curved and the back of my head and neck hit the linoleum. It really hurt! But it was funny from a different perspective, apparently, considering Annie and Anna were laughing really hard. I was fine though. Anna helped me up and I rubbed my head back to health. I said I'd never do that again.

Trashcan
A few days ago during lunch I was standing. I casually backed up but I didn't realize someone was sitting on the floor and I started to bump into them. Surprised, I tripped over them. I didn't want to crush them or their food so I turned around out of the way, but to my misfortune, I went straight at a trashcan in a corner! I almost fell in it! I had to grab its rim to keep my balance! The whole time I was screaming in short broken Oh!'s. It was quite embarrassing. My friends didn't laugh as much as I expected them to. They mostly just said "Wooowww." I would've felt better if they had laughed. :(

Ear Infection
A lot has happened this weekend. It was a 3-day weekend because of...Presidents Day, I think. On Saturday I went to the mountain with Annie. It was really fun and I can tell I've improved a lot. I've had a cold for a while and I'm really congested, though. :P On the way back from the mountain the elevation and pressure and stuff made my ears "clogged" and I tried to pop them. My right ear was fine but my left ear wouldn't pop for the whole ride. I got home and it still wouldn't pop. It was really bugging me because it made my hearing muffled on one side. I tried everything. I chewed extra and even when I didn't have food, trying to pop my ear. I Q-tipped the crap out of my ear. Nothing. My jaw got a little sore from all the chewing.
On Sunday I chewed some gum with no success. I went to my school to an 'open gym' for softball that I could get some practice in before tryouts. Tryouts are next Monday. I hope they go well... Anyway that night my ear felt as if there was an ear plug in it. It was so muffled it felt like there was something blocking it!
Yesterday morning, my mom told me to get up and get ready to go to the doctor. My ear felt a lot less muffled. There weren't many people there so we didn't have to wait long. We got me a physical for softball at the same time. So, the doctor looked in my ear with the otoscope. My mom got to look, too. The doctor and my mom said my right ear (the good one) looked normal and grayish or flesh-colored. My left ear, however, is really red and liquid-looking inside. :P EW. I have an ear infection. He prescribed me some big, yellow pills that I have to take twice a day. Two at breakfast and two at dinner. For 10 days. They taste bad. And they're big! Still, my other options were pills that I chew (ack!) or liquid. I'm not at all excited about either of those. So I have the swallow kind.
Today I felt okay but my ear was still muffled and I had to take big pills. Later tonight we're going to watch American Idol. I hope we're not missing anything too amazing on the Olympics...

Bunsen Burner
Today in science I used a Bunsen burner for the first time. We were melting little glass tubes to bend them into different shapes. It was pretty fun...but it kind of failed for me. We had to use tongs so we wouldn't burn ourselves. I used one in each hand to bend it easier. It worked for other people...but not me. First, I dropped my glass tube and about a third of it broke off. And if that wasn't bad enough, a few minutes later, when I was trying to bend it, it snapped again! This time, it shot some glass shards onto the counter! Then as I tried to dispose of some of the shards, stupidly, I burned my fingers on one of them! Just add injury to insult? --I know that's backwards but I wasn't hurt when the glass broke. ;) Just embarrassed. Then I was more embarrassed when I burned myself. Ugh...well it could have been worse I guess.

Milk Explosion
Today at lunch I had some chocolate milk. Then suddenly something made me laugh when I was half way through a sip. I choked and the milk got sprayed all over the table! I was laughing so hard and trying not to get more milk on the table that it took a few seconds for embarrassment to hit me. My friends were all just plain shocked. When I grabbed some paper towels and cleaned off my face, still laughing, they asked me what made me laugh. I tried to remember but I forgot! That made it more embarrassing. It was all very funny though. It's easy for me to laugh at myself.

New Classes
Today the new semester started and I got all new classes. I'm not very happy about them at the moment because every one of my teachers gave me homework, which I still need to finish... I have a lot of friends in my history class. I was actually surprised by that fact. My Spanish class will definitely be interesting... The people in there surprised me too. My ceramics teacher is kind of intimidating. I'm a little nervous about that. Science should be fun. Michaela is in that class with me but, like I said, I got homework from all my teachers. On the first day too! :( So I'll have to wait and see how I like them.

Super Bowl Sunday
We had a really great Super Bowl party at our house today. It was the Colts vs. the Saints. I barely watched any of the game at all though. Just a little at the beginning. I mostly just enjoyed the food played the Wii. The Saints won. :P I really could care less though. It was an awesome party. :)
Tomorrow the new semester starts and I get all new classes!

Mountain
Yesterday I went snowboarding yesterday with Annie and Jake. We went on some pretty difficult runs with lots of deep powder, including one that was at about the top. I'm good on groomed snow, but powder is my weakness. Then we met up with Nick, Adam, Max and Gus. They're a bunch of guys that go to our school. Gus was the only one who wasn't better than me.
I had to have crashed like 100 times, but it was SOOO fun! I did a lot of rolling down the mountain with backwards somersaults. They're really fun if you don't get hurt. For example, I started doing that and on the second tumble I got a bunch of snow in my mouth and choked on it! :P
I didn't get too hurt that day. Getting off the lift I tripped and the board wacked my shin. It's swollen and has a little cut but it's fine. And once I crashed and my knee hit my cheek really hard. I had a temporary fat lip but it's gone now. I can really tell that I'm improving though! It's exciting! I love it.

Half Way!
The semester is officially over. My health final went well and my geometry final brought my B up to an A!! My mom screamed, she was so happy! My only concern is PE. I don't know how I did...
I can't believe my freshman year is half over!

Photobooth
Since Annie and I are done with yearbook, we decided to spend our last day completely goofing off. We took these pictures on Photobooth. We're kind of spazzes so don't make fun of us! :)
Finals
It's finals week. I already did my PE final and turned in my yearbook page on Monday. Yesterday I played my song for the class in guitar. Today I did my English and Geometry final. I know I did well on geometry. I think English was good too. I just have the health final tomorrow and the semester's over! I'm excited about my new classes. I can't wait to see who I have classes with.
Dumb Boy
Yesterday on the bus there was a new kid. He was just riding for that day. My bus has to stop at the middle school. A bunch of 6th grade girls were sitting in the same general area behind me. I was sitting in the aisle seat next to Pasta in the window seat. I was slouched down with my knee on the seat in front of me, listening to my ipod. The the new kid, was interested by the fact that there were a bunch of middle schoolers on the bus. He started asking the people around him what grade they were in. Most of them were in 6th grade. He pointed at each person in the aisle saying "Sixth? Sixth?" Then he pointed and me and asked me, "Sixth?" I just stared at him with my mouth open a little and my eyes slightly narrowed. If I could, I'd be raising one eyebrow. It was just the kind of face my mom would make. He responded to my expression asking, "Seventh?" I spoke loud and slow, "I'm a freshman." Surprised, he said, "You're a freshman? Oh geez."
Dumb boy.

Clean-up
A few days ago my mom and brothers and I cleaned out the garage and took down the Christmas lights. It was exceptionally warm outside so I just wore a T-shirt and flip-flops. Then we swept out the garage and organized some boxes. It was so dirty!! We have so much crap! We brought a trunk full and backseat full of junk to Goodwill. There's like half as much stuff on that side of the garage now. It's kind of refreshing actually. After a while it got too cold though so I put on some boots and a sweatshirt I found.
My math final is tomorrow so we had to write a whole ton of notes to have with us. I wrote some of the best notes in the class. :) I let my friend copy them down. Then some random guy saw them and asked if he could also copy them. I gave them to him. A few minutes later he went and made copies of them with a copy machine! I think he even gave one to one of his friends!
I have to play guitar and sing for the class next period. D: Wish me luck...
